First off, this is a handy 10-piece set of small cleaning brushes at an unbeatable price. I immediately found uses for almost all of these right from the start. I vigorously pulled and pinched the bristles on all but the two wire brushes to see if any bristles fell out. None did, so I was off to a great start.The long, thin, black-handled set of five was what attracted me the most and the reason I chose this offering. If you’re a neat-freak like me, you can find all sorts of tight spots around the house where these brushes are useful. I also found them great for cleaning tools, auto parts, and countless items in my garage. However, the bristles are firm, so I wouldn’t use them on delicate surfaces that might scratch.The shorter, red, black, and yellow trio are also quite handy. I used the brass-bristled brush to clean the sheetrock and sawdust debris that clings to my drill bits. It’s the perfect size for that, especially on the tiniest bits. I tested the steel-bristled brush on the grout of my tile, and it easily cleaned those tight spaces as well. Be aware that it will remove some of the surface area of the grout if you brush too aggressively, so use it gingerly if your grout is thin to begin with.Unexpectedly, the two white brushes with the L-shaped bristle design have become the ones I use the most. Unfortunately, they’re also the reason for the removal of one star. The bristles are firm and longer than those on the other brushes, making them a bit more forgiving and less likely to scratch certain surfaces. I keep one in my pocket while vacuuming so I can quickly remove dog hair and cobwebs from lower inside corners that the vacuum head can’t reach. This saves me the trouble of changing vacuum attachments. It also effectively removes dust from the top of my baseboards. I keep the other brush with my bathroom cleaning supplies for cleaning nooks and crannies around the toilet.The main issue, and the reason for deducting one star, is the weak, hollow handle. While the other brushes have solid plastic handles, this white duo has an open, hollow handle that extends from the bottom up to where the bristles start. This design makes the handle weaker and more prone to bending under pressure, especially at an angle. Although it isn’t flimsy and is stiff enough for light work, a solid handle like those on the other brushes would make these brushes even better. Despite this minor flaw, I will continue to use them.All in all, for those who like a super-clean home, this 10-piece set is a great value for your cleaning arsenal.
