at first I was a little skeptical because its just a stand along camera. but upon getting it and reading the manual and playing with the APP it works really well. when i first powered it on and was trying to set it up it seemed to take a longer than i thought to load when i would like on the different menus or features for the camera in the app. but this went away after setup was done and now load within a few seconds. I played with the different features like the motion detection w/ alarm deterrent…… to the much surprise of our dogs and family �� when the motion detection is on and notifications are turned on on your phone you get a notification every time it sense movement which if its in an active area that can like like every few seconds. but i did find where you can set an active time you want it to be alert looking for movement. there is a active time feature where you can select what hours each day you want it to be active. say like when your at work or during the night when your asleep but then not have motion detect and alerts on say when your home during the day. (the camera is still on but it wont record or send alerts unless you manually tell it to or until it reaches your active set hours)it has a built in storage of like 8 Gigs so it can record quite a bit of pics and videos and are easy to access and download via the app. if you watch the live feed and want to record the video right than it will ever record it straight to your phone. or if your reviewing footage from the day before you can download it to your phone.i mainly use the motion detection feature but it also has a face recognition feature. you can add pictures of up to 20 peoples faces. you can set up alerts based off of those faces. such as it will notify you if it senses one of those faces or will notify you if its not one of those faces. it can do either. it also has 2 way sound so it will record audio as well as video. if your watching a live stream and want to say something to who ever is on camera you can do so by holding down the phone button. (took me a min to realize you had to hold it down not just push it) also startled the wife when i checked in on her and the kids the other day when she wasn’t feeling well, i wanted to make sure the littles were behaving for sick mommy. :)over all its a great little camera. the camera has a base it mounts to. the base you can use the 2 way tape it comes with or screw it to something with the provided screws. but the base is magnetic and the bottom of the camera magnets to the base. I wish it had a locking feature or a clasp of some kind as well as the magnet that way if you have the camera outside someone couldn’t just walk off with it. or the littles in the house dont just grab it and wander off with it……. because no little one has ever done that before �� but either way its a great little camera especially for the features it offers.
