I like to record myself musky fishing, and up until now I was using a headband style mount which did not give the best angles, so I decided to try this out. I honestly wasn’t expecting much when I ordered this, but after I opened the package I was really impressed. First off, the magnet mount is super strong. I don’t see that coming off unless you purposely remove it. It is also comprised of it appears four different magnets, some with north poles and some with south. What that ends up doing is making it perfectly straight every time because there is only one way you can put it on. Next up is the mounting hardware. The ball joint to adjust the angle is very stiff, which is a good thing. It would take a significant bump to accidentally move it. The actual clamp that holds you phone has a ratchet mechanism that clamps down on your phone or camera. It is a very universal mount that will fit a lot of different phones and cameras. I personally have a small 2″×2″ action camera that I was able to rig up in here using a few pieces of cardboardWhile it does its job just fine, the teeth are plastic and I wish they were metal. It hasn’t failed yet but I’m wondering how long until that happens, if at all. And finally the harness itself is comfortable to wear all day and has plenty of adjustment. I’m 6′ 1″ and 275lbs and there is still a fair bit of adjustment room left. Overall I’m very happy with this mount and I’m sure I will be using it a lot this summer.
