I really trust the Sennheiser name, but I’ve been having real trouble with the Bluetooth technology in my house, so far. This is the third transmitter device I’ve gone through. The other two have just suddenly gotten…confused…and not been able to find the receiver. At times I’ve had to run around the house shutting down every other Bluetooth service (our phones, our computers, the one on my TV), every one except the one I put on my stereo that I want it to connect to, in order to get the transmitter on my Roku device to work. Still, eventually, after working for several months, just long enough to prevent me from returning them, the other two transmitter devices I bought eventually crapped out and stop being able to connect to anything, even though they’re on. One was from Asidra and another from Monster. Suddenly, they couldn’t find my stereo’s Bluetooth receiver device from six feet away no matter how hard I cursed at them. (That should work, right?)Having said that, this Sennheiser has been easy to set up and has performed solidly. Now and then I’ve wanted the stereo to accept a Bluetooth signal from something else, so I’ve disconnected the Sennheiser to allow the other thing to connect. Sometimes when reconnecting the Sennheiser, making that handshake again has seemed a bit dicey. But so far, if I give it a little time, it’s always managed it.Now here’s my big discovery. Bluetooth HATES static electricity. I have the Sennheiser receiving the sound using a mini-plug extension to my Roku remote. The floor is carpeted, and if I don’t get rid of the static charge on my body before I pick up the remote, many times I’ll get a little shock and it knocks out the Bluetooth connection. I’ve gotten these little jimmies, “static discharger sticks”: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0792VB871?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_titleand also this wall outlet “banana jack”:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071J61CSV?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1So this “StaticTek Banana Jack” has plastic prongs that plug into the two hot bars on your electrical outlet, but the bar that plugs into the ground is a real metal tube that goes through the outside of the plastic jack. Touch the “discharger stick” to the end of the tube going through the “banana jack,” and you’ll see a small flash of lightning in the little window in the discharger stick. You won’t get shocked at all. The electricity that goes through the ground hole on a wall outlet goes only one way, in, not out. You’ll be relieved of your static electricity without any discomfort to you. After I do that, I never shock my Bluetooth connection out of commission. And I get to do this fun home science experiment all day long. If you’ve been knocking your home electronics out of commission and getting a static shock from them at the same time, you may want to try it!

With proper care, your pearl jewelry will maintain its beauty for generations. Follow these simple guidelines to keep your pearls lustrous and elegant.

Daily Care

  • Put pearls on last when dressing - after makeup, perfume, and hairspray
  • Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth after each wearing to remove body oils
  • Avoid contact with cosmetics, perfumes, lotions, and hairsprays
  • Remove pearls before swimming, showering, or exercising
  • Don't wear pearls while applying makeup or styling hair

Storage

  • Store separately from other jewelry to prevent scratching
  • Use the soft pouch provided with your purchase
  • Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources
  • Avoid plastic bags - pearls need to breathe
  • Store flat for necklaces to prevent stretching
  • Keep in a cool, dry place with some humidity

Cleaning

  • Use only a soft, damp cloth - microfiber or cotton
  • Never use ultrasonic cleaners or steam cleaners
  • Avoid harsh chemicals, detergents, and abrasive cleaners
  • Don't soak pearls in water or cleaning solutions
  • Let air dry completely before storing

Pro Tip

Wearing your pearls regularly actually helps maintain their luster! The natural oils from your skin keep pearls hydrated and beautiful.

Things to Avoid

  • Chlorine (swimming pools) - damages pearl luster
  • Salt water - can dry out and damage pearls
  • Vinegar, lemon juice, or other acids
  • Hair spray and perfume - contains alcohol and chemicals
  • Excessive heat and direct sunlight
  • Storing in a safe deposit box for long periods (too dry)
