For your viewing pleasure is this stellar Ludwig nickel over brass, heavy two piece shell,Professional “All-Metal”, 4×14 “Dance Model” snare drum as cataloged by Ludwig in the 1920s. It features 8 lugs, and the Ludwig Pat Pending strainer, which dates the drum between 1918-1925. It’s in great condition, and hard to believe it has been around for a century. It is completely original except for modern heads, Fat Cat snare wires, and some replaced tension rods, which are vintage. As is the case with nearly all of these, there are a few very light dings/scratches, but this drum has an overall beautiful well cared for look, with just some light nickel wear hear and there. The original Pat Pending strainer operates perfectly, and looks great. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. This is the exact same heavy two piece shell and construction used on the iconic 4×14 Black Beauties of the time, and would be the ultimate addition to any recording studio, stage, or collection. Thisdrum tunes up perfectly and sounds magical. This drum needs to be played and enjoyed for the next hundred years to come.
